Dr. O loves to learning more about chiropractic care and how she can help her patients get better. Recently she took a new class working on extremities. I miss her when she does those workshops, but when she returns she is fired up and ready to go. I have decades old injury that has continued to haunt me. She sharpened her techniques in the workshop and my adjustment has been amazing. From that single new twist I feel better than I have felt in 20 years!. Yea! Everyone there is so friendly and I love it how they give out snacks to kids and there is a toy area for them. I'm here for post accident therapy, and literally from day one, i was getting better. I came in with a shoulder and hip injury-- both of which were misdiagnosed or missed outright by an orthopedic surgeon (still smh after that) ... holistic approach, low impact, but frequent therapy is getting me whole again. Always tough to change any form of doctor and chiropractors are no exception. We've lived in the area for a year and I desperately needed an adjustment. Dr Owens was very thorough in her examination, explained what she planned and what she hoped to accomplish. The first visit with exam took almost an hour which made me feel as though Dr Owens was really interested in the problem and how to solve it. The other Chiro I went to kept adjusting my back but nothing helped, apparently he didn't even know what was wrong. I randomly walked in to inquire about services, prices, etc. and potentially set up an appointment; I was able to see Dr. Owens within 5 days. She has been extremely kind and attentive. She immediately pointed out the exact spots at which the pain is most intense just by examination. Her methods are effective but she is also cautious. After she moved to Federal Way I had the unfortunate opportunity of trying out other chiropractors in this area and found myself going through painful techniques that only made me realize how awesome Dr Owens is. And recently after another spat of back/hip issues I knew she is the only one I could go to that knows my body and do the appropriate adjustment to feel better faster. Also my schedule is on call and conflicts with most Dr's office schedules, so setting an appointment can be difficult at times. I am so thankful when in urgent situations they are able to get me in. She puts the patient first and has multiple techniques and implements at her disposal. There is nothing rote or rushed about her visits and based on your input she will try different techniques until your body is telling you which method it likes best. After a head on car accident, I was seen by a highly respected M.D. with a specialty in physical medicine and rehabilitation; an osteopath who had been trained at the Mayo cliinic and another chiropractor with a large practice. These people all had their eye on the door knob and a dollar bill. It was discouraging because I knew that I could heal more but not with them. I finally found Dr. Owens and the results have been night and day. She was recommended to the Natural Health Center by the Western State Chiropractic Association and having seen her it's easy to see why. In addition to other treatment means, she utilized the Graston technique on me and my body loved it. My master's degree is in nursing and I had read where this is a "quack" technique but that's simply not true. She used it on me to break up adhesions. It was not painful and the difference was quite remarkable.
